The Attack of Discouragement

One of Satan’s most effective weapons he uses toady is discouragement! Satan knows he is a loser and he also knows that he has lost the war. But he wants to cause as much trouble as he can before his final defeat.

Discouragement is universal. Every single one of us will be hit with it sooner or later! How will you deal with it when it comes? You maybe covered up with discouragement as I type this out this morning!

Discouragement is repeating. It’s not like getting the chickenpox . Once you get the chickenpox, you can never get them again. The bad news is, once Satan finds a weakness, he will attack over and over again. Satan fights dirty and he will do anything to destroy you, your witness, and you family!

Discouragement is also contagious. You can catch it from other people! We go to extremes to not get the flu. I can tell you some crazy stories about Lysol and germ-x. Not only is discouragement contagious but it is deadly! It will destroy your life and it will wreck relationships. When we get hit with discouragement, you will get down. The key is not to stay there!

This week I want to touch on a couple of things to help you fight discouragement. God has given us everything we need to fight and to win! 2 Peter 1:3 says, “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” Yes Lord! Don’t you know Satan hates that verse!

I am going to be up front with you. You have a calling to fulfill, you have a job to do, and you have a dream to chase! Don’t back down and don’t give up! Keep pressing forward and do not grow tired of doing good.

There has been several times in my ministry when I felt like I was not reaching the people but God handed this verse to me. Isaiah 55:11 says, “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Continue to be faithful and trust that He is still in control.

I am not sure what you are facing this morning, but know this, He loves you and He will see you through! Lean on Him and trust Him with all your heart. He is doing a mighty work in you as we speak! God bless you today and have a great Monday.
