A thankful heart honors God!
Paul warns us that just knowing doctrine about God is not enough to enter eternal life. He says in Romans 1:20-21, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His external power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they didn’t honor Him as God, or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
Pride kills thanksgiving! A prideful man is seldom a thankful man. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” We all know that hard times come in life, and difficulties always seem to find us! Rejoicing in difficulty is God’s will, and remaining thankful durning the messes of life is also God’s will. Complaining, negativity, and being critical can drain your joy! But being grateful can restore that joy.
He calls us to pray, continue to rejoice, and remain thankful. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I find myself in a complaining state of mind. We can be so negative and seem to find the worst in every situation. When that hits; stop and pray; then begin to thank Him for all the blessings around you!
God bless and have a great Monday!
