Delight the Lord

Good morning! I am always excited about getting up and spending time with the Lord. The morning is my time of refreshing and getting ready for my day. I pray you will block out a time durning your day to meet with Christ, getting refreshed!

There are phrases in the Bible that always grabs my attention when I am reading. One of those phrases is; This is what the Lord says. When you see these words, you better pay attention! In Jeremiah 9:23-24 says, “This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight, declares the Lord.”

God’s ultimate intention is for us to know Him! That is His greatest desire for us. Not that we make a lot of money or become famous. He wants us to understand and know Him! What do we boast about? What is most important to us? What do we spend most of our time doing? The God of all creation delights in us when when we seek to understand and know Him more!

As a father, I try my best to take care of my girls and to let them know that they are loved. I do my best to protect them and guard them the best I can against hurt and danger. As a father, I want to see them do well and succeed in life. As parents we make huge sacrifices for our children because we love them so much. As kids get older, they begin to find their own passions and their own way. And we don’t see them as much but it always delights my heart when they want to spend time with me! When they intentionally set aside time to go get coffee and just talk. I get jacked up!

Today, boast not about your accomplishments but boast about the mighty God you serve. Delight God’s heart and spend time talking to your Father and getting to know Him a little better. God bless and have a great Tuesday!
