Living for Self

Good morning! We are closing in on Thanksgiving and I can’t wait! Time to relax, and to have fun with family, and friends. We are so blessed and we need to be thankful for all the blessings of God! Yes Lord!

James 3:14-16 says, “But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” I can only speak for myself, I am by nature a very selfish person. We ask questions like; What’s in it for me? How is this going to benefit me and my family? How can I get ahead? We want to make it all about us. But selfish living will hinder your ability to bless others! Proverbs 11:25 says, “A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” God is calling us away from our selfish nature and is encouraging us to serve and to love on people around us. Luke 6:38 says, “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into you lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” I hear you Lord!

I want to encourage you to pray over Galatians 2:20 and see what the Lord is telling you. His Word says, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” I dare you to pray this over and over again to your Heavenly Father this morning. I double dog dare you! Haha. See you tomorrow.
