Come Thirsty My Friend

John 7:37-38 says, “On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within you.” Deprive your body of the necessary fluids and see what warning sign go off in you! Our eyes need water to cry. Our mouth need moisture to swallow, and our glands need sweat to keep our body cool. Our body needs water the same way a tire needs air. For the human body, it is so important to stay hydrated.

What water can do for your body, Jesus can do for the heart. Are you tired and wore out? Do waves of worry, fear, guilt, and loneliness overwhelm you at times? Jesus can soften the hardest heart and lubricate what is dry. Do you need a drink from the well that does not run dry. Allow Jesus to take over and kick self off the throne. Receive his love and mercy. We don’t have to live this life with a dehydrated heart! Jesus has given us an open invitation to come and drink. You just have to be willing to receive it! Come thirsty my friend!
