Think about It This Way

Good morning! I started back trying to add more running into my workout! It has been painful and not fun at all. My feet hurt and my calves are on fire. How do people enjoy this? My niece runs marathons, my daughter absolutely loves to run, and a lot of my friends enjoy a good easy 5k race. Let me tell you this, there is nothing easy about running 3.1 miles. But I am determined to enter and complete a 5k race! Chris at Wild Side Running hooked me up with a new pair of shoes and it made all the difference in the world! He introduced a shoe to me for the “Older Athlete”. What was he trying to say? But I have noticed I have trimmed off about 7 pounds! One could call it pruning! Haha.

John 15:1-2 says, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does not bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” All living things have to be maintained or they will automatically deteriorate and disintegrate. A relationship is a living thing whether or not it is with a person or God. God desires the best for me and will do everything he can in getting the best for me. My growth is more important to Him than my comfort. He loves me and wants to remove everything that is of no value. He wants to improve all that is good and make it better. He cares enough to work on me and in me! Lord, I thank you this morning for an personally, intimate relationship with you! You are my rock, my shield, and my high tower. Thank you for your patience and undying love. Thank you for seeing the best in me and caring enough to prune off the unnecessary in my life.

Sometimes, the things that hurt the most, does us the most good. You maybe walking through a painful season in life, but I want to encourage you to hang tough! God has a plan and a reason for it all. He is doing a great work in you and He is preparing you for something special. He is working everything out for your good. Trust Him this morning! 7 minute mile here I come! God bless.
