What Kind Of Gift Are You?

John 17:24 Jesus says, “Father, I want them with me-these you have given me-so that they can see my glory.” Christ appreciates us because we are a gift to Him from the Father. Jesus knows that the Father gives only good gifts. Yes, we are imperfect, but Christ sees us in our ultimate completeness. Seeing the end from the beginning, He joyfully receives us. What kind of gift are we? Are we a reward or, perhaps a challenge? No. We are His bride!

Lord, forgive me for the inconsistency of my commitment to You. Grant me power that I might truly abide in You; grant me obedience that I might sustain Your abiding Word in me. With all that I am, I desire unbroken fellowship with You! Shape me and fit perfectly into your presence, that I might dwell in oneness with You. Francis Frangipane

A Change Of Pace

Good morning! For 2 years I have been writing a daily devotion and it has been a joy! But the Lord stirring me into a new season of writing. Don’t get me wrong, I will continue to write devotion of encouragement, but they will not be as frequent. I am excited about what God has around the corner!

Thank you all for your encouragement and your prayers! Love y’all!

The 3 C’s

Matthew 4:19-20 says, “He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him.” Jesus was the greatest leader to ever grace this earth. He had a style of leadership that falls into 3 different areas. First, He was a leader with a clear mission. His primary purpose and motivation was to glorify His Heavenly Father. A mission is what you are to do as you fulfill God’s purpose for your life. Your mission keeps you on course. Jesus has an uncanny way of staying focused.

Second, Jesus was leader with consistent character. He lived out what He taught and believed. Character gives credibility to our purpose. Flowing from character is trust and respect, two vital traits as a leader. If you Heart is right, your character is right. I hate to make it so simple, but it is truth. The key to Christ character was purity of heart.

Third, He was a leader with a capable team. He knew with committed, gifted individuals around Him, He would reach the world. Jesus chose 12 men to serve with him. They were not perfect and never pretended to be, but they were open to growing and learning God’s ways. Jesus knew the value of relationships. He had a loving relationship with His Heavenly Father. Out of that relationship flowed a passionate love for those around Him.

I want to encourage you this morning to ask the Lord for a clear mission and give you a passion to pursue it. Be honest, hardworking, and courageous. There is always a temptation to compromise character just to get the job done. Be consistent in your character and don’t pretend to be something your not. Last but not least, I want to encourage you to surround yourself with godly men and women who love Jesus and other people. CLEAR MISSION, CONSISTENT CHARACTER, CAPABLE TEAM

You Don’t Have To Have An Appointment

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it was by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, nor of works, lest anyone should boast.” May we never lose the wonder of His amazing grace! How many times did you hear the gospel before you received Jesus? Most people hear the gospel many times before they receive the Lord. That is grace! He doesn’t give up on wooing us to Himself. We all know, He is the God of second chances; and oftentimes a thousand chances. Some of us were saved at an early age, while others were saved later in life. Whether you are 5 or 85, it takes the same amount of grace to deliver us from sin!

Some Christians struggle understanding they have been saved by grace, but they still want to pay Him back with good works. Know this, God’s love for us flows from His character, not ours; it is not dependent on anything we have done or will do. In fact, if you do nothing to serve Him the rest of your days, He will not love you any less. You can’t do anything to make Him love any more. And you can’t do anything to make Him love you any less!

Sin cannot destroy you relationship with God, but it can surly damage your testimony and your fellowship with Him. I am overwhelmed this morning with His amazing grace! God’s Riches At Christ Expense. Enter His throne of grace this morning. Nobody checks you out. You don’t have to stand in line. You don’t even have to make an appointment! Just come and enjoy the presence of you Heavenly Father who show us grace every day. God bless you and your family today!

Be The Light

1 Peter 2:11-12 Paul’s says this, “Dear friends, I urge you, as strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” In other words, this world is not your home, so don’t make yourself cozy in it!

Matthew 5:14-16 Jesus says, “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on it’s stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” If you want to give your Father His praise today, then let your light shine! Let this world see the difference Jesus makes in ones life! I want to encourage you to not be ashamed and conform to this world. God has called His Church to walk in holiness and conform to his likeness. Let your light shine bright today so that it will give Him glory! Take care and God bless you and your family.

Straight Truth

Romans 6:20-23 says this, “As long as you did what you felt like doing, ignoring God, you didn’t have the right thinking or right living, or right anything for that matter. But do you call that a free life? What did you get out of it? Nothing you’re proud of now. Where did it get you? A dead end. But now that you’ve found you don’t have to listen to sin tell you what to do and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more life on the way. Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God’s is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus!”

There is freedom in a life that is sold out and fully surrendered to Jesus Christ! Discover the delight of walking in the presence of our Heavenly Father. I have made mistakes along the way as a father. Yes, I have even told my children “I am sorry,” for acting out in anger or frustration. But our Heavenly Father is perfect in all His ways and loves us with a perfect love. A life of sin will leave you alone and empty! It’s time to make a change. Walk away from the emptiness, pain, and sadness. Seek His face, and walk in His presence, and discover real life. Happy Father’s Day!

Daddy’s Hands

How can I say thanks to the man who taught me so many things? To say I am grateful is a huge understatement and a debt I could never repay! When I think of my dad, I will always remember his hands. They were always ruff, calloused, and strong. Those were the hands that held me tight when I was a little boy. To this day, I can still see him drawing up a play in the palm of his hand as we played football in the front yard. How can I ever forget watching him build on to our house or closing in the garage to give us more space to live. He never asked for help, but it never stopped him from getting a job done. Those hands taught me discipline and how to be a man.

Watching my dad also taught me how to be a godly husband and a caring dad. I saw him sacrifice so many thing for the sake of his family and never blinked an eye! When you shook his hand, you knew he was a man’s man. But, there was always love in Daddy’s hands! Happy Father’s Day to my hero in life. Thank you for the great example you have given me to follow. God has given me a blue print to follow and it looks like you PaPa. You are the best. Never forget, you are so loved! God bless.

What Are You Wearing

Have you ever been asked, “What are you wearing?” Let’s be honest, if you have been married over a year, you have been asked this question multiple times. If it was up to me I would wear jeans and a T-shirt everywhere I go. My wife and I will go out to a nice restaurant, and we both will start getting ready. I clean up a little and I put on a clean pair of jeans and fresh T-shirt, and I am ready to go. So I sit down and watch ESPN while she gets ready. After an hour goes by, I go to the bathroom to speed her up, because it is time to go. I walk into the bathroom and then I get that look! Guys, you know that look! Then she asked the question, “What are you wearing?” That means I have to take my jeans and T-shirt off and put on something a little nicer.

Romans 13:11-14 and says, “The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” Paul was asking the Roman Christians and He is asking us today, “What are you wearing?” So many times we confess one thing and live another. Professing followers of Christ living no different from the world. Take off the ways of the world and put on Christ today. Clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ! The hour has come Church, wake up from our slumber. I hope you have a great Friday!
