When Life Is Jacked Up

Checkout Luke 7:36-39, “Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisees house and reclined at the table. When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she begin to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed team and poured perfume on them. When the Pharisees who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is-that she is a sinner.”

This woman had a lot of baggage. She had made some mistakes, but it didn’t stop her from coming to Jesus. Remember it’s not about what you are going through, but it’s about who you are going to! This world loves to put labels on people, but God is in the business of changing your name and your heart. If you are broken, come to Jesus. If you are ashamed, come to Jesus. If you are depressed, come to Jesus. If you are addicted, come to Jesus. If you life is jacked up, come to Jesus!

1 John 5:4-5 says, “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God!” No matter what you are facing today, make a decision to come to Jesus. Have an awesome Friday!

Don’t Loss Heart

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 says, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” So many times in life we stop and look at all the negative, and evil things going on in our world. It can be overwhelming and discouraging to say the least. Murder of unborn babies are happening every day. Lives are being destroyed by drugs and alcohol, and ripping families apart. Human trafficking of children has become a money making business! Are you kidding me?

Paul is telling us not to loose heart! But to be renewed day by day. He is encouraging us to turn our eyes towards Jesus, and to grow in our love relationship with Him. We need to be fueled by the Savior of the world! We need to be filled by the Holy Spirit of God. We need to be empowered by the God of the universe. I want to encourage you this morning to believe God for the Impossible, grow in your relationship with Christ, and God will show you what to do about the world around you. What are you fixed on? The troubles of this world or Jesus? Don’t loose heart Church but be super charged by our Creator! Yes sir!

God Is Our Refuge

Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:10 goes on to say, “Be still and know that I am God.”

In Christ, we can find peace no matter what we face or go through in this life. Hold on to truth and don’t let it go. I pray that you enjoy your Sunday with family and friends. Rest in His love today!

Walk In The Light

Good morning! It is Saturday and Sunday is coming! Spending time in Titusville, Florida with family and friends, but I want to give you a word of encouragement today.

Nehemiah 9:19 says, “Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the desert. By day the pillar of cloud did not cease to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to go.” Don’t you wish God could make it that simple today? Although God doesn’t lead us exactly like that today, He still guides us by illuminating our path.

Walking by faith is like driving a car at night with our head lights on. When you drive at night, we cannot see the entire road lit up all at once. We can only see how far our car lights will shine down the road. But as our car moves, we can see more and more of the road.

Walking by faith is never easy but it is never dull! God is calling us to a life faith, and He is asking us to trust Him with every little detail! Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your path.” Psalm 32:8 says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go.”

It would be crazy to drive our car at night without head lights! Who would do such a thing? But so many times when find ourselves trying to operate and maneuver without the Lord’s guidance or direction. We all need the light, that only Jesus can bring!

Lord, grow our faith and help us to fully trust you! Light our path as we live in this dark world. But also help me to reflect your light to help others along the way! God bless and have a great day.

Grab Your Oxgoad

Judges 3:31 says, “After Ehud came Shamgar son Anath, who struck down six hundred Philistines with an oxgoad. He too saved Israel.

One decision, one change, one risk, one idea! That’s all it takes! You don’t have to make 100 changes, but you have to be committed to one thing. One thing will change your life. This was all the press that Shamgar would ever get in scripture. One daring decision, that delivered the entire nation! One risk turned 15 minutes of fame into a model of courage that inspired a nation to fight back! One man refused to be ruled by unrighteousness. He had no army, and no artillery. All he had was an oxgoad, which was a long stick that prodded his animals.

If God is for you, who can stand against you? Courage doesn’t always wait for an perfect plan. Courage doesn’t always wait for the popular opinion. Courage only waits for one thing. A green light from God!

It committing yourself to be a part of the solution and having a heart for Christ. It about becoming the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Use what God has given you. “Your oxgoad” Make a Mark. Make a difference!

God bless and have a great Friday.

Personal Prayer

I really don’t like sharing my own personal prayers that I write to God. Because people will be able to see my thoughts and even my struggles. But God calls us to be real and transparent. So here we go.

I made a decision to follow You when I was 5 years old. I am now 52 years old, so that means I have been a Christian for 47 years! No news to you. You would think I would have it down by now.

One would think I could live out my life in such a way where I would never let You down. You would think, I would have Satan figured out and I could explain his every move. I would love to say, I could know and believe every verse of the Bible and never waiver. But there is one verse that I am still trying to get a hold on to! Help me with this Lord.

John 14:11-12 says, “Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” Lord, You did something that blows me away. Like healing the sick, raising the dead, feed the 5000, and walked on water! Raise my level of faith this morning! Christ in me, the Hope of all Glory lives inside of me! Help me today to practice what You are showing me.

Lord, I know you Word is Truth! But help my unbelief, doubt, and my fears. It has become so easy to slide into the routine of religion and just do church. Forgive me Lord, when I pray small prayers that require no faith. Forgive me, when I come to you not expecting miracles or believe that lives will not be changed.

Help me stand on your truth and strengthen my faith in You! Make me strong in you and help me to live a life of faith that will please you! Help me to hear You and pray the prayers that you would pray today!

To You be all the Glory forever and ever! Amen!
