The closer we get to Jesus, the more like Him we become. Relationship comes first; change comes later. I hope you have a great Tuesday!
Enjoyed a workout with my oldest daughter today. Great times.
200 meter run, 10 hex bar deadlifts, 10 crunchy frogs, 10 dumbbell thrusters – 5 rounds
Life is all about relationships and how we deal with people. God Himself is more interested in relationships than anything else! Matthew 5:23-24 says, “Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the alter, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the alter and go; first to be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.” He is more interested in us having right relationships than He is receiving our offerings. That is huge.
Matthew 22:37-39 says, “Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” The first and most important relationship is our relationship with the Lord!
He is calling us to dive completely into a love relationship with Him. His love is like an ocean and not a kiddie pool. He is not calling us to to stick our toes in and test the waters, or just to get in waist deep. But dive deep and be totally in. He wants our whole heart not just a piece of it.
We can’t love the people around us until we first receive that love from God and are willing to give it away. I want to encourage you to make a commitment this morning, to invest in your relationship with the Lord! Set aside time to talk, listen, and to love on Jesus. Jump into the Word of God and let it go deep. Watch how it will effect your attitude and the relationships that are most important to you. God bless you and I pray that you have a great Monday.
Lord, we love you! Thank you for first loving us!
Good morning! It’s Saturday and I am enjoying my time alone with God without being rushed. It’s so good just to rest in His presence and to be refreshed after a long week.
What would you call ultimate living? Each one of us would probably have our own idea of what that would look like. To me, ultimate living is living a life that is exciting and filled with adventure, passion, and full of love! It’s also knowing that I am doing exactly what I was created to do!
Every Christian is called to be on mission for Christ! He is calling each one of us on an adventure of a life time. Answering the call of the Creator is the ultimate “why” for living. The call of Christ is twofold. First, He calls us to a life changing relationship with Him.
Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for you.” What an amazing love. Acts 4:12 reads like this, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” John 14:6 says, “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” If we want to live the ultimate life with adventure, purpose, and impact, we must first make sure that we are in a personal, intimate love relationship with Jesus Christ!
God’s first call is by faith in a person and work of Jesus Christ. Open your hearts door to Him today! Let Him take control. Before we are called to make a difference, He has called us to Himself.
The second part of our call to God is this: God calls us to a lifetime mission alongside Him. God is calling you to partner with Him! That’s right. The very Creator of the universe wants to partner with you! We are not called to live for Christ, but to live in Christ. He is not really concerned with what we are doing for Him, as He is about whether we are willing to be obedient alongside Him in what He already is doing. We are saved to be sent! We were blessed to be a blessing. Yes, salvation is a gift, but with that gift comes an responsibly. The call to salvation and the call to ministry are one and the same call!
Missing something in life? Needing something fulfilling? Wanting to find purpose? Tired of feeling empty? Surrender your heart and life to the person of Jesus Christ. Partner with God and live a life of adventure! Yes Lord! The ultimate living!
